The BAE Filton 7 acre
building was re-roofed, while RAF and USAF combat aircraft were
being maintained at shop floor level.
NSS erected mobile access rigs
off the spanning tracking at a 20m level to allow the roof work
to proceed.
The system used trackways and
material distribution trollies on the outside of the building,
and a complete waterproof membrane of netting and sheeting.
In the words of BAE, 'not
so much as a cigarette packet fell to ground level'.
