CONTRACTS FRIGATE
COMPLEX, NAVAL DOCKYARDS
ROSYTH & PLYMOUTH |
|
When the Royal Navy repaints
their Type 22 frigates, such as HMS Roebuck in the photograph,
they need a temperature and humidity controlled workplace.
NSS provided its unique cladding/wired/aluminium
extrusion solution which uses the frigate as a 'tent pole' to
enable the perfect conditions in the naval dockyard at Rosyth.
NSS developed an access frame
that provided an inclined tower such as the one in the drawing
on the frigate complex at Plymouth naval dockyard.
The
system currently being used to re-clad and repair the frigate
complex roof is identical to the system that was installed by
NSS when the building was originally built in 1971.
